A skeleton of a yak herders hut stands high on the shoulder of Dhaulagiri (8167 m). These pastures, kharkas, are populated only in the summer.
The valley below is the deepest valley in the world; Kali Gandaki river running between Dhailagiri and Annapurna (8091 m) cuts more than five kilometres (16000 feet) deep into the Himalayas.
On the left is Nilgiri (7061 m) and Annapurna on the right.
